Heifer calves under 450 lbs 20.00 to 30.00 lower, over 450 lbs steady to 5.00 lower. Very good demand for this large offering of high quality steers and heifers. Many long strings of these good calves, including full load lots, along with numerous small packages, that sold on an pretty active market. The quality was attractive, several sets of replacement quality heifers in the offering that were met by eager bidders. The cattle futures contracts were lower again, and put some additional pressure on the market but there were still plenty of buyers on the seats ready to buy cattle. Cattle feeders are struggling to sell fat cattle as packers work to buy cattle lower, sales of 212.00 in Iowa today.
