USDA Mobridge SD Seasonal Calf Auction

USDA Mobridge SD Seasonal Calf Auction 10/28 15:05 AMS_2010 MARS Mobridge Calf Auction (Tue-Seasonal) - Mobridge, SD Mobridge Livestock Exchange-Mobridge,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 10/28/2025 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 2938 3080 3080 Today was a seasonal Tuesday calf sale, compared to Thursday: best test on steer calves 450 to 499 lbs 60.00 to 65.00 lower, 550 to 599 lbs 35.00 to 40.00 lower. Best test on heifer calves 500 to 549 lbs 35.00 to 40.00 lower. A nice line up of calves today with quite a few load lots and many packages. Overall quality was quite attractive and most of the calves had a sound vaccination record. Moderate to good demand with best demand seen for customers of bull breeders as they competed to own their genetics. A much different market situation than a week ago as the futures complex continues to decline. Buyers are much more reserved as any confidence in the industry's future has evaporated. A nice crowd of buyers, farmer feeders, and bull breeders in the seats for an irregular sale day. A few cancellations today due to rain west and north making for muddy yards and roads. Next feeder cattle sale is Thursday, October 30, expecting 7500 head. --------------------------------------------------------------- FEEDER CATTLE --------------------------------------------------------------- HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 5 338-338 338 460-460 460 50 361-385 374 437-445 441.91 113 405-449 437 435-476 456.19 71 451-471 455 425-467 458.43 90 500-542 511 400-433 417.21 320 509-534 517 453-560 493.56 Replacement 298 554-596 567 462-512 479.8 Replacement 170 553-597 580 380-415 404.21 90 607-607 607 512-512 512 Replacement HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 4 381-381 381 410-410 410 56 502-526 521 382-382 382 STEERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 40 365-394 386 522.5-536 532.63 41 401-423 412 492.5-507.5 499.62 204 453-496 476 477.5-505 490.61 43 501-501 501 501-501 501 Fancy 115 540-546 545 436-442.5 437.51 588 558-598 577 410-456.5 434.79 103 598-598 598 482-482 482 Fancy 103 609-609 609 482-482 482 Fancy 115 630-640 632 380-401.5 396.2 174 689-693 691 430.75-430.75 430.75 Fancy STEERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 5 396-396 396 472.5-472.5 472.5 7 415-415 415 475-475 475 61 479-496 492 455-466 463.37 6 548-548 548 400-400 400

DTN Ag Host Midday Livestock

DTN Ag Host Midday Livestock

It's been a quiet morning for the livestock complex as the cattle contracts are trading slightly higher, but the lean hog contracts are still trading lower as demand remains weak. There are some bids on the table for the fed cash cattle market, but no new trade has developed.
