USDA Herreid, SD Wtd Averages

USDA Herreid, SD Wtd Averages 10/31 15:55 AMS_2024 MARS Herreid Livestock Market - Herreid, SD Herreid Livestock Market-Herreid,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 10/31/2025 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 3647 2071 5722 Compared to last week: different weight classes of yearlings than last week, lower undertones noted on yearlings. Different weight classes of calves also, higher undertones noted on calves. A string of 1300 steers off grass was the feature consignment of yearling cattle today and these were met with very good demand. Mostly good demand for the balance of yearlings out of yards depending on flesh condition, some cattle carried quite a little flesh. Moderate to good demand for calves today. Many packages and just a handful of loads in the calf offering. Attractive calves with all their vaccinations were the easiest to sell, those plainer cattle or those without good shots were harder to find homes for. A moderate to active market with mostly order buyers in the seats today. The futures board had a very uncertain week and most months were again negative at the close of the day today. This volatility has led to more reservation at the auction, a major contrast to the enthusiasm seen late summer and earlier this fall. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, November 7. --------------------------------------------------------------- FEEDER CATTLE --------------------------------------------------------------- BULLS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 8 323-323 323 482.5-482.5 482.5 HEIFERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 121 1010-1011 1010 318-318 318 66 1020-1020 1020 297.25-297.25 297.25 Fleshy HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 4 321-321 321 530-530 530 15 367-370 369 520-541 534.04 45 400-430 417 509-533 518.28 24 460-477 474 480-495 482.43 125 501-504 502 440-457 450.18 10 549-549 549 410-410 410 Full 47 550-599 569 355-390 376.15 9 611-611 611 362-362 362 27 729-729 729 316-316 316 Unweaned 96 863-894 884 326-334.75 331.9 36 898-898 898 311-311 311 Fleshy 157 902-944 922 316-334.75 325.31 205 967-994 985 311-325 323.53 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 5 478-478 478 410-410 410 16 521-521 521 388-388 388 STEERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 117 1011-1021 1016 339.75-340 339.87 STEERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 28 409-418 416 544-580 550.31 102 453-466 459 502.5-539 532.53 301 526-537 532 462-495 482.32 20 554-560 557 452.5-480 467.5 94 604-644 630 386-394 390.09 39 657-671 661 364-370 368.13 77 727-727 727 377-377 377 Unweaned 673 815-842 825 376-381 379.95 366 886-898 894 353.5-370.5 362.53 61 896-896 896 315-315 315 Fleshy 258 905-917 909 363.75-370.5 367.08 60 926-926 926 313.25-313.25 313.25 Fleshy 168 968-990 976 306.25-310 308.73 Fleshy 59 983-983 983 342-342 342 STEERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 4 386-386 386 500-500 500 11 529-545 535 420-437 426.3 7 578-578 578 410-410 410
