USDA Hub City Livestock Wtd Averages 04/30 16:25 AMS_2020 MARS Hub City Livestock Auction - Aberdeen, SD Hub City Livestock Auction-Aberdeen,SD Livestock Weighted Average Report for 04/30/2025 - Final Auction This Week Last Reported Last Year ------------------------------------------------------------ Total Receipts: ------------------------------------------------------------ FEEDER CATTLE 3950 4550 3392 Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 899 and 1000 to 1049 lbs mostly steady, 900 to 999 lbs unevenly steady. Best test on heifers 700 to 849 lbs mostly steady. Good to very good demand for cattle today depending on flesh condition. The majority of today's offering was loads and strings of backgrounded cattle and a few consignments of replacement quality heifers. Flesh condition varied, with a few consignments in heavy flesh, most cattle in moderate to moderate plus flesh. Quality varied more than last week, from plain to attractive. An active market with both buyers and farmer feeders in the seats and a few producers interested in replacements. Many opportunities to buy multiple loads of cattle again this week which buyers took advantage of. Fat cattle prices have exceeded expectations and feeders are anxious to fill empty pens and take advantage of this market. Quite a bit of the area saw rain on this week, grass is growing rapidly and corn planting is underway. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, May 7. --------------------------------------------------------------- FEEDER CATTLE --------------------------------------------------------------- HEIFERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 9 1111-1111 1111 229-229 229 13 501-501 501 337.5-337.5 337.5 20 576-576 576 330-330 330 HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 25 290-290 290 455-455 455 22 359-359 359 450-450 450 6 473-473 473 390-390 390 35 511-534 529 346-360 357.47 21 573-587 578 350-352.5 350.97 31 611-638 623 324-329 326.36 50 653-665 662 322-327 325.92 213 706-740 723 287-307 297.53 15 730-730 730 277-277 277 Fleshy 178 758-795 778 280-304 295.99 212 802-846 816 265-289.5 278.42 44 835-835 835 296-296 296 Replacement 104 860-860 860 292-292 292 Replacement 20 866-866 866 235-235 235 Fleshy 439 855-888 870 273-288 282.5 51 980-980 980 259.75-259.75 259.75 19 983-983 983 230-230 230 Fleshy HEIFERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 7 494-494 494 362.5-362.5 362.5 4 525-525 525 327.5-327.5 327.5 26 667-667 667 301-301 301 STEERS - Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 468 1018-1036 1027 268.5-275 271.66 85 1005-1047 1030 254-254 254 Fleshy 101 1059-1063 1061 250.5-254 252.23 59 1077-1088 1086 244-246 245.56 Fleshy 4 511-511 511 350-350 350 23 625-625 625 339-339 339 STEERS - Medium and Large 1 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 24 311-311 311 487.5-487.5 487.5 36 389-389 389 485-485 485 5 460-460 460 420-420 420 23 520-532 528 400-411 407.71 14 537-537 537 382.5-382.5 382.5 Fleshy 42 578-596 583 367-393 381.92 25 611-629 619 347-365 355.43 21 620-645 632 330-341 335.35 Fleshy 113 651-692 676 329-350 345.29 88 703-725 711 327-338.5 331.9 11 721-721 721 300-300 300 Fleshy 13 752-752 752 327-327 327 105 800-840 820 301.5-310.25 306.29 253 855-892 879 275-295.75 291.64 310 904-947 933 272-287.25 279.42 344 950-994 966 270.5-280.5 272.98 STEERS - Medium and Large 1-2 (Per Cwt/Actual) Head Wt Range Avg Wt Price Range Avg Price 10 778-778 778 283-283 283
