DTN Weekly DDG Price Slightly Lower on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended June 26 was $1 lower on average versus one week ago at $150 per ton.
DDG prices were mixed for the week, but lower on average. The lower cash soybean meal and cash corn prices added pressure to the DDG market. DTN's National Average Corn Index is down 23 cents versus one week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended June 26 was 1.026%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 55.37% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.56, compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $5.70.

U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) July export market prices report, showed as of June 26, CIF NOLA barge price was down $6 at $211 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was down $9 at $228 mt; rail delivered PNW was down $4 at $243; and rail delivered to California was down $6 at $233 mt.
The Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday for the week ending June 20, overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.081 million bpd, down 28,000 bpd week-on-week and 38,000 bpd, or 3.5% higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.104 million bpd was 55,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.023 million bpd, down 29,000 bpd week-on-week and 36,000 bpd, or 3.5% higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.045 million bpd was 54,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
