2016 U.S. Election Coverage

Source: DTN ProphetX

So, here we go! DTN's coverage of the 2016 U.S. election has begun. And similar to what we did during the Brexit vote this past summer, you can track live updates on this Market Matters blog site.

First a bit of housecleaning. As DTN Editor-in-Chief Greg Horstmeier said in his Editors' Notebook blog, "Please note that during Tuesday evening (and early Wednesday morning) we'll (DTN) be suspending the ability to post comments in Market Matters blog by others. That will give readers an uninterrupted 'stream' of market commentary from the (DTN) analysts. Comments by others will be deleted as the evening goes on to create that stream. We'll reopen the Market Matters blog commentary Wednesday mid-morning."

Trust us, it works pretty slick this way. If you're looking to kill time, thumb back through this blog to June 23 to see how Brexit commentary played out. As we did back then, DTN Analyst Todd Hultman and I will take shifts covering the latest developments in the election and market reactions.

DTN will also have a team of editors monitoring not only this blog but also stories from a long list of media sources over the course of the evening. Headlines will be checked and double-checked for accuracy.

Furthermore, DTN Policy Editor Chris Clayton and DTN Political Correspondent Jerry Hagstrom will be keeping a close eye on key Congressional races.

It's going to be a long, exciting night. Get comfy on the couch, grab your favorite beverage, and keep your DTN handy as we work our way through this election together.
