TRIMBLE LAUNCHES VIRTUAL FARM

Trimble has launched its Virtual Farm, an interactive online experience that gives farmers the opportunity to "immerse themselves in precision agriculture," according to a Trimble news release.

In this new online tool, users walk through a digital farm and identify common challenges. From there, farmers are directed to Trimble's solutions for each challenge. Trimble's Virtual Farm details common issues and offers technology solutions. For example:

-- Ensuring Work Gets Done -- Precision agriculture solutions enable equipment operators to complete field tasks with minimal training. Task selections help operators work on the correct tasks with the right implement in the right field.

-- Start-to-Finish Data Management -- Having multiple vehicles working at the same time and getting farm data from one platform to another can be a challenge. Data management solutions help make the most of the farmers' data by automatically syncing this information to increase efficiencies.

-- Input Management for Cost Savings -- Farmers find ways to create efficiencies through technologies that reduce waste.

-- Resource Management to Make the Best Use of Time -- Manage land, machinery and time in an efficient manner to create a coherent operation.

-- Water Management -- Manage water issues for year-over-year improvements that affect farm profitability and management.

-- Getting Started -- There are barriers to precision agriculture, including the initial technology investment and knowing how to choose the right equipment. Knowing the answer to these questions and showing the ROI gives farmers a way to show how precision farming can improve farming practices.

NEW HOLLAND ROLLS OUT METHANE-POWERED TRACTOR

New Holland Agriculture North America has announced the U.S. launch of the world's first production T6 Methane Power tractor.

New Holland says the T6 Methane Power tractor delivers the same performance of its diesel equivalent -- the same power at 180 horsepower and up to 30% reduction in running costs. The T6 can run on biomethane or compressed natural gas.

This T6 operates with an all-new NEF 6.7-liter engine specifically developed for agricultural applications. Gas tanks with 49 gallons of capacity are stored in the same position as the diesel tanks on the standard T6 model. For extended operating time, the front-mounted range extender offers an additional 71 gallons of fuel capacity.

HESSTON ANNOUNCES NEW SELF-PROPELLED WINDROWER

AGCO is bringing to the field a new self-propelled windrower from Hesston by Massey Ferguson.

At the heart of the new WR Series design is a closed center auxiliary hydraulic system. Depending on application, this feature allows for a 10% fuel reduction or 10% available power increase. This boost in overall efficiency is paired with a 150-gallon fuel tank capacity.

The WR Series features AGCO Power engines, delivering up to 265 horsepower at 2,100 rpm and more than 280 horsepower at 1,950 rpm. The WR197 features a 4.9-liter, four-cylinder engine, while the WR235 and WR265 are equipped with a 7.4-liter, six-cylinder engine.

The new WR Series includes Massey's Datatronic 5 terminal. It collects vital operations in one place and provides an intuitive interface for increased productivity. This system allows for individual operator profiles, making it easy to customize operational preferences. This system also reduces overlaps and can save up to 12% fuel in field operations.
