Sustainable aviation fuel production and carbon capture and storage are among the hot topics that will be discussed at this year's International Fuel Ethanol Workshop and Expo slated for June 10-12 in Minneapolis.

The event, billed as the largest ethanol conference in the world, is produced by Ethanol Producer Magazine and organized by BBI International. It will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

This year's conference includes three co-located events: the Biodiesel Summit: Sustainable Aviation Fuel & Renewable Diesel; the Carbon Capture & Storage Summit; and the annual pre-conference event, Ethanol 101.

"We're continuing the expansion of presentation themes beyond ethanol production and product diversification to include discussions on carbon capture and storage, biodiesel, renewable diesel, and sustainable aviation fuel production," said John Nelson, vice president of operations, sales and marketing at BBI International, in a press release. "We will provide presentations on the new technologies impacting the industry, while also continuing our tradition of providing newcomers with foundational knowledge through Ethanol 101, scheduled for Monday, June 10."

"Ethanol 101 is a one-day in-depth survey of the history, science, production and market basics of the ethanol industry. Populated by some of the industry's most recognized professionals, this seminar will serve not only to bring you or your new employee up to speed on 'must know' information about the ethanol industry but will also provide a forum to meet respected industry representatives and network with them and their fellow seminar attendees," according to information on the workshop and expo.

Ethanol Producer Magazine announced May 28 the six companies selected to pitch to a group of investors at Pitch Day at the FEW. Investors who are interested in attending Pitch Day at the International Fuel Ethanol Workshop can do so by contacting Marla DeFoe at mdefoe@bbiinternational.com.

Pitch Day has also been selected as a Regional Competition site for Startup World Cup. The pitch event will see contestants judged by a panel of venture capitalists, with the winner attending the grand finale in California's Silicon Valley to compete against semifinalists from across the globe for the $1 million investment prize. The judging panel will consist of venture capitalist organizations aimed at supporting startup growth.

"There are countless innovations happening in the ethanol industry," stated Nelson. "Giving companies the opportunity to pitch new technology to investors is a prime example of how Ethanol Producer Magazine is committed to the overall growth and success of the ethanol industry."

Last year, nearly 2,200 attendees and 550 biodiesel producers attended the conference. Now in its 40th year, the conference is an industry staple and a must-attend for those involved in the ethanol industry.

Access to all three events is at one price. Registration includes admission to all conference sessions (co-located events, plenary sessions and breakout sessions), entry to the expo, all meal functions, and speaker presentations (available on conference app during the event). Producers attend for free.
