Spot Ethanol Prices Decline at Argo, NYH on Excess Supply
Spot ethanol prices traded a penny lower Thursday afternoon in Chicago and the New York Harbor after coming under pressure from building supply levels. The Energy Information Administration on Wednesday reported U.S. ethanol stocks spiked during the week ended March 9 by 1.2 million bbl to a record high of 24.3 million bbl.
In physical trade, prompt delivered ethanol at Argo traded four times during the aftermarket window at $1.485 and ended at $1.48 gallon for a 1.0cts loss. Ethanol railed under Rule 11 terms for this week shipment traded at $1.485 gallon, unchanged. NYH March delivered ethanol barge was assessed down 1.0cts at $1.595 gallon.
