Argo, NYH Spot Ethanol Prices Lower on Building Supply

Spot ethanol prices were discussed slightly lower in the Chicago and New York Harbor cash markets after the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported ethanol inventories rose 600,000 bbl, or 2.7%, to a six-month high of 22.6 million bbl. Meanwhile, blending demand tumbled 91,000 bpd, or 9.6%, to 855,000 bpd during the week-ended Dec. 29.

In physical trade, prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market traded more than once at $1.27 per gallon for a loss of 2.0 cents. Prompt delivered ethanol by barge in the New York Harbor was talked at a $1.41 to $1.43 per gallon bid/ask spread, down 1.0 cent on the session.
