New York Harbor Spot Ethanol Higher on Short Covering

Spot ethanol prices moved mixed Friday, with New York Harbor values trading 1.5 cents higher on the day at $1.565 gallon, buoyed by a major producer, blender buying fuel ethanol in the open market as it moved to cover a short position.
PADD 1 East Coast, which includes the New York Harbor, saw its fuel ethanol stocks drop by 74,000 barrels to 7.682 million bbl during the week-ended June 16 while flat versus a year ago, U.S. Energy Information Administration data shows.
