Cash ethanol prices extend lower in early trade Tuesday under selling pressure from Chicago Board of Trade corn futures that declined amid profit-taking.

Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market was talked at $1.43 per gallon and any January product traded at $1.43 per gallon for a 2.5-cent loss.

In the rail market, ethanol traded under Rule 11 was discussed from $1.41 to $1.44 per gallon, down 4.0 cents on the session. January ethanol barges in the New York Harbor were talked at $1.50 per gallon for a loss of 3.25 cents. February barges were offered early at $1.545 per gallon, down 1.5 cents.
