Spot Ethanol Prices Mixed in Active Trade after EIA Data

Spot ethanol prices moved mixed Wednesday, with cash prices in New York Harbor and at Chicago's Argo terminal easing while rail prices in Chicago and California cash prices advanced.

The rail market benefited from tight supply, with a lack of rail cars limiting supply deliveries to coastal markets. Argo prices eased on higher domestic production as bio-refineries restart after fall maintenance. Prompt ethanol supply at Argo traded at $1.65 and at $1.63 per gallon, down 3.25 cents. Ethanol traded under Rule 11 traded at $1.675 per gallon and $1.685 per gallon, up a penny. November ethanol barges at the New York Harbor were talked at a $1.74 to $1.78 per gallon bid/ask, down 2.5 cents.
