U.S. spot ethanol prices retreated in the Chicago and New York cash markets early Monday afternoon, weighed down by weak demand and selling pressure from Chicago Board of Trade corn futures.

Prompt ethanol supply at Argo in the Chicago cash market was talked at a $1.60 to $1.62 per gallon bid/ask for a 1.0-cent loss. October ethanol barges at the New York Harbor were seen at $1.665 per gallon, down 1.0 cents on the day.
