Spot ethanol prices continued higher Thursday amid ongoing support from Wednesday's Energy Information Administration report showing ethanol stocks were drawn down last week to a nine-month low, with export demand also strong.

Prompt ethanol supply at the Argo hub in the Chicago market was talked 1.75 cents higher at $1.585 per gallon. Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 terms for this week shipment was valued 1.5 cents higher at $1.56 per gallon. New York Harbor September barges were bid 2.0 cents higher at $1.625 per gallon. Prompt barges in the Houston Ship Channel were discussed 2.0 cents higher at $1.61 per gallon.
