Spot Ethanol Prices Trade Mixed in Choppy Session

Spot ethanol prices moved mixed during choppy cash market trade early Monday afternoon sandwiched between higher Chicago Board of Trade corn futures and lower New York Mercantile Exchange RBOB futures. There was a dearth of activity in the physical ethanol market ahead of a weekly U.S. crop inspections report due Monday afternoon, said sources.

Prompt ethanol at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market traded a penny higher at $1.56 per gallon, while Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 for this week traded down 0.25 cents at $1.54 per gallon. July New York Harbor ethanol barges traded at $1.59 per gallon, down 0.5 cent on the day. In the Southwest, spot Arizona ethanol was valued at $1.64 per gallon, down 3.5 cents on the day.
