Spot Ethanol Prices Higher after Bullish EIA Data
Spot ethanol prices gained Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration reported ethanol stocks fell last week to an 18-week low, though production rose to a five-week high and demand fell to a six-week low.
Prompt ethanol at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market traded at $1.52 per gallon while any-May Argo ethanol traded at $1.53 per gallon for a gain of 1.5 cents. Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 for this week shipment traded at $1.50 per gallon, up 2.0 cents. Spot ethanol in Arizona traded at $1.635 and $1.645 per gallon, up 2.5 cents.
