Spot Ethanol Prices Down at Argo, NYH despite Supply Draw

Spot ethanol prices slipped early Wednesday in Chicago and New York markets as weaker corn futures outweighed a bullish weekly report on ethanol supply.

The Energy Information Administration said ethanol stocks fell 400,000 bbl to 21.6 million bbl last week, while plant production declined 12,000 bpd to 927,000 bpd, and blender inputs rose 25,000 bpd to 918,000 bpd for the week.

Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market was talked at a $1.53 to $1.545 per gallon bid/ask, down 0.75 cent.
