Spot Ethanol Values Gain as Exports Rise, Supply Down

Spot ethanol prices edged up again Tuesday ahead of federal data that's expected to show another decline in domestic ethanol inventories amid rising export demand, trade sources said.

The latest federal data shows U.S. ethanol exports rose from 55.6 million gallons in August to 58.0 million gallons in September, with higher figures expected to be issued next month for October.

Weekly domestic supply plummeted to a five-month 17.0 million bbl low during the week-ended Oct. 24. Prompt shipment to northern California traded at $2.07 per gallon after an offer at $2.10 per gallon, up 3.0 cents, while prompt delivered product in Phoenix, Arizona, traded at $2.10 per gallon for a 3.0 cents gain.
