Spot ethanol prices retreated in thin trade midday Monday, tracking falling Chicago Board of Trade corn futures as concerns eased that bad weather would reduce supply for ethanol feedstock. Prompt Argo ethanol was pegged at $2.10 per gallon, down 2.5 cents. New York Harbor September delivered ethanol barge was pegged at $2.12 per gallon, down 1.0 cent. Northern California prompt ethanol prices were seen at $2.30 per gallon, down 7.0 cents with Florida spot prices pegged at $2.28 per gallon, down 3.5 cents. A source said flooding in Phoenix, Arizona, would curb ethanol's downside.
