Spot Ethanol Prices Again Pressured by Rising Supply
Spot ethanol prices traded sharply lower for the third-straight day Tuesday on expectation federal data to be released midweek would show domestic supplies of ethanol fuel rose during the week-ended Apr. 11, with production from U.S. plants seen rebounding after output dipped the week prior. The thinking in the market is that the ethanol plants are probably running at full capacity now, said a broker. Argo ethanol talked about $2.65 to $2.73 gallon bid/ask at last look, down 11 cents, with April ethanol barge in the New York Harbor seen at $2.45 to $2.55 gallon bid/ask, down 22.5 cents.
