West Coast Spot Ethanol Values Higher on Low Supply
Spot ethanol prices continued higher along the West Coast on lingering supply concerns while New York prices held unchanged and Chicago area prices were a tad lower.
Trade volume was thin for physical product as most traders stayed on the sideline. The paper market was somewhat more active. Today in-tank transfer ethanol in Portland, Ore., was talked at a $3.30 to $3.35 per gallon bid/ask, up 0.5 cents. In northern California, ethanol was talked in a $3.35 to $3.37 per gallon bid/ask, up 4.0 cents, while in Phoenix, Ariz., prompt ethanol was bid $3.30 per gallon, up 13.5 cents.
