Most Spot Ethanol Prices Pressured by Weaker Corn Futures
U.S. spot ethanol prices moved mostly lower in early trade Tuesday under pressure from a retreat for Chicago Mercantile Exchange corn futures, with today transfer at the Argo terminal near Chicago seen down 1.5 cents at a $2.52 to $2.57 per gallon bid/ask spread.
Ethanol at Argo for Dec. 13 transfer traded 3 cents down at $2.50 per gallon. New York spot ethanol values bucked the downturn, aided by a shortage of physical supply in the New York Harbor market. Harbor barged December ethanol was talked 2.5 cents higher at a $3.50 to $3.60 per gallon bid/ask.
