Southeast Asian Buyers Impressed With DDG Quality
A team of grain and feedstuffs buyers from Southeast Asia and New Zealand were impressed with the U.S.' strict quality control measures for grain exports, according to a story from the U.S. Grains Council (http://bit.ly/…).
The team, hosted by the U.S. Grains Council, is in the U.S. for a crop tour, to view distillers dried grains with solubles and corn gluten meal production facilities, and to learn about developments in container and bulk transportation.

During a visit to container transloading facilities, the team witnessed modern logistics for moving DDGS and grain to international markets and noted the measures taken by the Federal Grain Inspection Service and sellers to ensure product reaches export destination with the quality it was contracted. Several buyers also noted the high quality of corn gluten meal while touring a corn processing facility.
The tour also included a visit to an ethanol plant where the team learned how DDGS quality has improved and become more uniform and stable in the past five years. The tour will end with visits to a grain elevator and an export facility in the Pacific Northwest that loads grains, oilseeds and meals, including DDGS.
Adel Yusupov, U.S. Grains Council regional director in Southeast Asia, who was traveling with the team, said, "Reliability, transparency, and assured quality are key considerations for buyers, and this delegation is certainly gaining an enhanced picture of the U.S. production complex. I am confident that this will translate into increased sales in the future."
