Spot Ethanol Values Gain as Supply-Demand Balance Tightens
Spot ethanol prices advanced in early afternoon trade Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration reported U.S. ethanol supplies dropped last week to a record low at 15.39 million bbl while demand increased 2.6% for the week-ended Oct. 4.
Prompt ethanol at Argo near Chicago was offered at $2.07 per gallon, up 5 cents on the day, while prompt New York Harbor barged ethanol was pegged at $2.25 per gallon, up 2 cents on the day.
