Argo, NYH Spot Ethanol Prices Jump on Dwindling U.S. Supply
Spot ethanol prices rallied in early afternoon trade Wednesday at the New York Harbor and in Chicago after the Energy Information Administration showed a 600,000 bbl draw for ethanol stockpiles while demand increased 1.2% during the week-ended Sept. 20. PADD 1 East Coast stocks tumbled a whopping 500,000 bbl to 5.3 million bbl, marking the lowest stock level recorded by EIA for the region. PADD 2 Midwest stocks at 5.0 million bbl were at a three-week low. Ethanol for today transfer at the Kinder Morgan-operated Argo terminal near Chicago traded at $2.45 and $2.47 gallon, gaining 16.0cts for the day. October New York Harbor barged ethanol was talked at a $2.26 to $2.30 gallon bid/ask, up 9.0cts on the day.
