Spot Argo, West Coast Ethanol Down on Easing Supply Tightness
Spot ethanol prices edged higher in the New York Harbor regional market amid talk of a supply shortage, but fell at the Argo terminal near Chicago and along the West Coast on easing supply concerns.
Federal data today detailed a 100,000 bbl stock draw in the East Coast, while West Coast supplies climbed 300,000 bbl last week, boosted by imports received in California. Ethanol for prompt transfer at Argo was talked at $2.58, down 8 cents, while September Harbor barged ethanol traded at $2.60 gal, up 2.5 cents. Northern California spot ethanol was pegged at $2.60 to $2.65 per gallon bid/ask, down 2.5 cents.
