Spot Ethanol Slides in Chicago on Lower Corn Futures
U.S. ethanol spot prices were talked mixed with a downside bias Monday. Chicago values slid more than a nickel on lower Chicago Mercantile Exchange corn futures as mild summer weather is seen helping corn pollination, said analyst Scott Strand at Northstar Commodity Investment Co. in Minneapolis, Minn.
A crop inspections report issued today by the U.S. Department of Agriculture was also bearish, showing stress in only 15% of the crop which is small, easing supply concerns.
