Spot ethanol prices were shallowly mixed in thin early trade Thursday, as many traders stepped to the sidelines after an active trade session the prior day.

Physical supply remains tight across the nation, keeping ethanol prices in most regional hubs from tracking CBOT corn futures lower, trade sources said. "Corn was up at the start of trade, but has since turned lower in the past hour, taking the edge off ethanol prices," said one trader. "It's generally been quiet today."
