Short Covering, Tight Railcar Market Boosts Spot Ethanol Prices

Spot ethanol prices were higher early Thursday in Chicago, New York and California, rebounding after steep losses a day ago in reaction to data showing higher ethanol stocks than previously anticipated. Market sources said Wednesday's selloff was overdone and that traders were looking to recoup some of those losses. The sources also said a lack of railcars was delaying product shipment from the Midwest to the West Coast.
