Spot Ethanol Prices Tumble with Corn as Supply Fears Ease

Spot ethanol prices fell in a thinly-traded session early Wednesday, pulled lower by a retreat for corn futures and federal data showing U.S. ethanol stocks were unchanged during the week-ended March 1.

Corn futures plunged amid forecasts USDA's WASDE report due out Friday would show an upward revision for corn supply of estimates for the current harvest year.

The Energy Information Administration's data released this morning also showed U.S. ethanol supply held at 19.4 million bbl last week instead of declining as expected.
