Spot Ethanol Prices Pressured by Lower Corn Futures

U.S. spot ethanol prices fell Tuesday, with Chicago cash prices at their lowest level in a month amid talk of softening demand and selling pressure by retreating Chicago Board of Trade corn futures. Prompt fuel ethanol supply at Argo terminal was assessed at $1.535 gallon, 3.5cts lower, while ethanol traded under Rule 11 terms for shipment this week was talked 3.0cts lower at $1.52 gallon. On the East Coast, May barged fuel ethanol in the New York Harbor was talked at a $1.59 to $1.60 gallon bid/ask, down 3.5cts, while prompt supply product in Houston was penned at $1.605 gallon for a 3.5cts loss.
