Spot Ethanol Prices Up at Argo, NYH as Supply Draw Seen

Spot ethanol prices in Chicago and New York Harbor markets rose by a penny or more Wednesday in anticipation that the Energy Information Administration would show another weekly stock draw for ethanol when it releases its report for the week ended Dec. 22 on Thursday.

Prompt supply at the Kinder Morgan-operated Argo terminal in the Chicago market traded at $1.28 and $1.285 gallon, up 1.25cts, with January delivered supply trading at $1.295 gallon. There was talk of an early January barge at the New York Harbor at $1.38 to $1.41 gallon bid/ask, up 1.0cts on the day.
