Spot ethanol prices moved higher along the West and Gulf coasts amid talk of export demand, although trade volume was thin during the first day of cash trade after Christmas.

This week transport fuel ethanol to northern California was talked at $1.475 per gallon for a 6.5-cent gain, while January railed or barged ethanol in Houston was valued at $1.375 per gallon for a 0.5-cent gain. Cash trading is expected to pick up Wednesday.
