Spot ethanol prices traded lower in Chicago and the New York Harbor early afternoon Thursday, pressured lower by a decline in Chicago Board of Trade corn futures, which fell to a two-week low, and concern over building supply. Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday that ethanol stocks rose in the East Coast by nearly 100,000 bbl to 8.169 million bbl while Midwest supply held steady at 7.9 million bbl last week. Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market traded at $1.605 gallon, down 0.75cts. April barge ethanol in the New York Harbor was talked at a $1.64 to $1.67 gallon bid/ask, down 1.5cts on the session.
