DTN Weekly DDG Price Higher on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended July 23 was $155 per ton on average, up $2 on average versus one week ago.
DDG prices were higher on average for the week and the cash corn price was higher versus one week ago. The DTN National Average Corn Index was up 19 cents per bushel (basis SEP), while soybean meal prices were up $13.40 (basis DEC) versus one week ago.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended July 23 was 0.890%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 46.70% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.74 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.99 (basis DEC).
U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report, showed these August prices as of July 23: CIF NOLA barge price was up $6 at $225 metric ton (mt) versus on week ago; FOB vessel Gulf price was up $3 at $242 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $29 at $275; and rail delivered to California was up $16 at $248 mt.
The Energy Information Administration reported on Wednesday, July 22, that overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.094 million barrels per day (bpd) in the week ended July 17, up 54,000 bpd week-on-week and 16,000 bpd, or 1.5%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.086 million bpd was 4,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.037 million bpd, up 61,000 bpd week-on-week and 11,000 bpd, or 1.1%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.024 million bpd was 1,000 bpd below the same four weeks last year.
