DTN Weekly DDG Price Slightly Lower on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended May 22 was down $1 on average versus one week ago at $154 per ton.
DDG prices were mixed for the week, but down $1 on average even though the cash corn price is higher for the week, with a nice recovery in soybean meal, and there is plenty of feed stocks to cover demand. DTN National Average Corn Index is up 16 cents versus one week ago.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended May 22 was 0.931%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 51.59% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.70 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.28.
U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) June export market prices report, showed as of May 22, CIF NOLA barge price was up $6 at $223 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was up $4 at $234 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $1 at $250; and rail delivered to California was up $3 at $245 mt.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported for the week ended May 16, overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.036 million barrels per day (bpd), up 43,000 bpd week-on-week and 17,000 bpd, or 1.6%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.023 million bpd was 30,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 980,000 bpd, up 47,000 bpd week-on-week and 16,000 bpd, or 1.6%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 965,000 bpd was 25,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
