Corn Rally, Lower Production Lift Spot Ethanol Prices
Spot ethanol prices traded higher in Chicago and New York on Wednesday after the Energy Information Administration reported ethanol production fell to the lowest level since May 2015 and on a rally for corn futures on the Chicago Board of Trade. Sources said Argo ethanol traded at $1.53 and $1.54 gallon, up 2.5cts. Chicago ethanol traded under Rule 11 for this week shipment traded at $1.53, $1.535 and $1.54 gallon, up 2.0cts. April ethanol barges in the New York Harbor were talked at a $1.61 to $1.62 gallon bid/ask, up 3.0cts.
