D6 RINs Edge Higher While Spot Ethanol Prices Ease

Spot ethanol prices tracked lower with corn futures Monday. Traders eyed the market's supply-demand balance, while Renewable Identification Numbers rose.

This was after the Environmental Protection Agency last week accepted a settlement with the American Petroleum Institute and American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers that ensures a Nov. 30 deadline for setting renewable fuel blending mandates under the Renewable Fuel Standard.

2014 D6 RINs traded 1.0 cent higher at 72.0 cents, while 2015 D6 RINs traded up 1.5 cents at 70.0 cents. Prompt Argo ethanol was pegged 1.5 cents lower at $1.53 per gallon.
