Low Supply Prompts Short-Covering in Spot Ethanol Market
Spot ethanol prices rallied after federal data showed domestic ethanol supplies fell 100,000 bbl last week to 15.0 million bbl, the lowest since weekly records began in June 2010, prompting short-covering ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. New York Harbor barged December ethanol was talked in a wide $2.65 to $2.85 gallon bid/ask range, up 14.5cts on the day. Today transfer Argo ethanol traded at $2.60 gallon, up 14.5cts.
