Flyweight heifers sold sharply higher, 500 to 700 lbs sold 20.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold 10.00 higher. Demand was good to very good for all offering of calves, feeders, fall bred cows and pairs. Scattered rain showers helped take some anxiety off the hay market this week but in the back of livestock owners minds they all know more moisture is needed to make it till fall. Summer grass and meadows slow to grow but with recent rains and some warm weather should help. How high will it go, is a common talk on the feedlot sales. TREND: The trend for July corn is down.

NONCOMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Noncommercial corn traders held a net-short futures position of 95,494 contracts as of June 10, an increase of 14,435 contracts as solid crop conditions and friendly weather kept sellers active during the CFTC reporting period.

COMMERCIAL OUTLOOK: Commercial corn traders held a net-long position of 114,551 contracts as of June 10, an increase of 9,826 contracts, week-over-week. The July 2025 contract is priced 16 cents higher than the September 2025 contract, a spread that strengthened significantly over the past week. Traders' concerns about the livestock complex being overbought and over-extended have resurfaced today as all three of the livestock markets are trading lower into Tuesday's noon hour. Southern asking prices are noted at $238 plus, but no trade has developed yet.
