DTN Weekly DDG Price Slightly Higher on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Dec. 12 was higher on average at $155 per ton versus one week ago. DDG prices were mixed but slightly higher for the week, due in part to the cold weather perking up nearby demand. The DTN National Average Corn Index was up 6 cents versus one week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended Dec. 12 was 1.01%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 54.10% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.74 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.03. (Table still using DEC futures.)
U.S. Grains Council in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report showed as of Dec. 11, January CIF NOLA barge price was down $13 at $176 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was down $6 at $187 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $2 at $213; and rail delivered to California was unchanged at $224 mt.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.078 million barrels per day (bpd) in the week ended Dec. 6, up 5,000 bpd week-on-week and 4,000 bpd, or 0.4%, higher than the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.095 million bpd was 49,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.015 million bpd, up 1,000 bpd week-on-week and 1,000 bpd, or 0.1%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.029 million bpd was 42,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
