DTN Weekly DDG Price Lower Again on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Feb. 15 was down $2 on average at $192 per ton versus one week ago. The corn market added pressure to DDG prices as corn futures on Feb. 15 hit another new low for the fifth time in the past seven sessions. The DTN National Corn Index was down 10 cents versus one week ago.
The Energy Information Administration on Wednesday reported overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.083 million barrels per day (bpd) as of Feb. 9, up 50,000 bpd week-on-week and 69,000 bpd, or 6.4%, higher than in the same week last year. Data show weekly production marked the highest since the week-ended Dec. 22, 2023. Four-week average output at 981,000 bpd was 33,000 bpd below the same four weeks in 2022. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.032 million bpd, up 49,000 bpd week-on-week and 67,000 bpd, or 6.5%, higher than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 930,000 bpd was 36,000 bpd below the same four weeks in 2022.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended Feb. 15 was 1.27%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 55.96 and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $7.04 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $7.15.
U.S. Grains Council in their weekly DDGS export market prices report showed February CIF NOLA barge price was up $5 per metric ton versus last week and FOB vessel Gulf price up $4 per metric ton. Rail delivered to California was down $7 per metric ton from last week as logistic issues are recovering from the recent intense rain and flooding.
