U.S. Spot Ethanol Prices Boosted by Increased Exports

U.S. spot ethanol prices traded mostly higher early Thursday on the back of rising export demand of the product and higher Chicago Board of Trade corn futures, trade sources said. "There's a slight increase in exports," said a trader. "We have a problem as we didn't have enough of a stock build."

Today transfer ethanol at the Argo hub near Chicago traded at $2.18 gallon, up 8.5cts on the day, while any-December Argo ethanol traded at $2.12 gallon, up 12cts. January New York Harbor barges traded a couple of times at $2.13, $2.16 and $2.17 gallon for a gain of 4cts on the session.
