DTN Weekly DDG Price Steady on Average
MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Aug. 21 was $141 per ton on average, unchanged versus one week ago.
DDG prices were slightly mixed for the week, but steady on average. DDG demand remains flat with most buyers unchanged on their prices this week, while the cash corn price recovered. The DTN National Average Corn Index up 12 cents versus one week ago.

Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended Aug. 21 was 1.019%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 47.51% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.22 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.25.
U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) September export market prices report, showed as of Aug. 21, CIF NOLA barge price was down $3 at $204 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was down $2 at $224 mt; rail delivered PNW was up $8 at $244; and rail delivered to California was up $7 at $231 mt.
U.S. weekly ethanol production dropped slightly compared with a week ago, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration report on Wednesday. For the week ended Aug. 15, U.S. ethanol production averaged 1.07 million barrels per day (bpd), compared with last week's 1.08 million bpd, and down from last year's 1.10 million. The four-week average output at 1.09 million bpd was equal to 1.09 million from the same time last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.02 million bpd, compared with 1.03 million bpd the previous week. Four-week average output at 1.03 million bpd, compared with 1.03 million bpd a year ago.
