Ethanol and the Renewable Fuels Association are taking center stage on television Monday evening, when a signature motorcycle designed to run on ethanol will be unveiled in the latest episode of "American Chopper" on Discovery Channel.

After a six-year hiatus from reality television, motorcycle craftsman Paul Teutul, Jr. and his crew returned to the network on May 27 with the premier episode of the show.

On Monday at 9 p.m. central, the show's latest episode will feature the unveiling of the ethanol motorcycle. Discovery Channel crews filmed at East Kansas Agri-Energy ethanol plant in Garnett, Kansas, on March 24.

Previously, RFA has collaborated with other bike enthusiasts and organizations like the Buffalo Chip Campground at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The motorcycle project is part of RFA's recently announced $1 million "Fuel Your Knowledge" campaign designed to educate and inform consumers about the proper use of ethanol-blended fuels in motorcycles and other small engines.

"E10 (10% ethanol) has been used in motorcycles as a safe and cost-saving alternative to straight gasoline for decades," the RFA said in a news release. "In fact, every motorcycle manufacturer endorses the use of E10, while some approve the use of even higher blends. The homegrown fuel provides the high octane that many bikers want. It burns cooler, cleaner, and is made from renewable resources grown by hardworking rural Americans."
