Argo, NYH Spot Ethanol Prices Slip on Building Supply

Spot ethanol prices were discussed lower in Chicago and the New York Harbor in early trade Wednesday afternoon after the Energy Information Administration reported that domestic ethanol inventories increased last week by another 100,000 bbl to a 21.9 million bbl nine-month high, and plant production ramped up 10,000 bpd or 1.0% to a 1.061 million bpd fresh record high.

In cash trade, prompt delivered product at the Argo terminal in the Chicago market was talked at $1.44 per gallon, down 0.5cts. On the East Coast, a February barge at the New York Harbor was talked at a $1.51 to $1.53 per gallon bid/ask for a 1.0-cent loss. In the market for renewable credits, the values for 2017 D6 Renewable Identification Numbers traded at 44.0 cents, up a penny. 2016 D6 RINs traded at 43.0 cents, up 0.5 cent.
