Spot Ethanol Prices Ease in Chicago, New York on Monday
Cash ethanol prices retreated in Chicago and the New York Harbor in early trade Monday, while trade hubs along the Gulf and West coasts were little talked. Most traders are taking a wait-and-see attitude in the cash market ahead of weekly federal data due Wednesday on supply and demand, said sources.
Prompt shipment of ethanol traded under Rule 11 changed hands at $1.43 per gallon and was then discussed at a $1.43 to $1.46 per gallon bid/ask, down 2.5 cents. January ethanol barges in the New York Harbor were talked at a $1.54 to $1.57 per gallon bid/ask for a loss of 0.5 cent on the day, said sources.
