Argo, NYH Spot Ethanol Prices Tumble in Thin Early Trade

Spot ethanol prices were lower in Chicago and New York during a choppy session Tuesday on renewed selling in corn futures trade on the Chicago Board of Trade and a second session of lower values for New York Mercantile Exchange RBOB futures.

Trade activity in the spot ethanol market remained thin as traders await data due out Wednesday that's expected to show a build in ethanol inventory for last week.

Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub in the Chicago market was talked at a $1.515 to $1.535 per gallon bid/ask for a loss of 3.25 cents. On the East Coast, New York Harbor ethanol barges for July shipment traded at $1.55 per gallon, down 3.0 cents on the day.
