Argo Spot Ethanol Climbs on Falling Supply, Demand Up
Spot ethanol prices were discussed higher in the Chicago and New York markets after the Energy Information Administration said ethanol stocks fell 0.3% week-over-week and domestic output declined 5% week-over-week and 3.2% year-over-year. Blender ethanol inputs rose 2.9% year-over-year to a record high in the week-ended June 17. Prompt delivered ethanol at the Argo supply hub was pegged at $1.59 gallon for a 2.0-cent gain. Chicago ethanol under Rule 11 for this week shipment was seen at $1.58 gallon, up 2.0 cents. June New York Harbor ethanol barges were discussed at a $1.62 to $1.66 gallon bid/ask, up 1.0 cent on the session.
